THE FOLLOWING ARE STEPS TO BE TAKEN WHEN YOUR CHILD IS WITHDRAWING FROM SCHOOL:

STEP 1:

The withdrawing student’s legal parent/guardian completes the online GMHS Withdrawal Form no more than 1 month prior to the withdrawal date. Directions on how to request final academic records are included in this form. If nothing is requested, George Mason will send records to the transferring school once a request is received. The completed form will be emailed to the parent, as well as the high school registrar.

STEP 2:

Print the completed withdrawal form and give to the GM student during his/her LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL (the GM registrar will also email a copy to the students FCCPS account one week prior to the withdrawal date). The student completes the charted portion of the form, having each teacher/school representative complete it as assigned. Textbooks, MacBook’s, and any other school-issued items should be returned at this time and teachers will issue withdrawal grades to be provided to the new school.

STEP 3:
The student returns the completed form to the GMHS Counseling Office and collect requested records, if applicable. Please note that if the completed form is not returned and completed in its entirety, or outstanding fines exist, records may not be released.
