September 14, 2017

Dear Mustang Families,

Our Homecoming festivities commence next Monday (9/18), followed by our football game Friday (9/22) at 7:30 p.m. and our Homecoming dance on Saturday (9/23) at 8:00 p.m. We look forward to an exciting week filled with school spirit.

We continue to educate our students on the importance of working together to achieve their goals. This includes supporting one another when faced with adversity and peer pressure.  Collectively, we must encourage one another to act responsibly and appropriately during all Homecoming activities. Please join me in reminding our Mustangs to exercise good judgment.

In order for your student to participate in the activities of Spirit Week, a permission form must be submitted. Thank you for your continued support.

Attention Sophomores and Parents of Sophomores!

On Wednesday, September 27, please remember that all sophomore students will remain after dismissal to meet with their Personal Project Advisor about their projects.  At 12:45, car riders and walkers will be dismissed to head home, while bus riders will head to GMHS Door 15 (cafeteria) where late buses will pick students up to take them home.  The buses will leave promptly in order to make elementary school pick up.

Students will also remain after and follow the same schedule on November 15 and February 14 early release dates.  Finally, we hope you have marked your calendar to attend our IB MYP Personal Project Showcase in the evening on March 7, 2018.  More information about the IB MYP Personal Project can be found here.  Please direct any questions to Dr. Clark or Ms. Lane.
Student Parking
Parking spaces have been numbered and correlate with the number on the parking permit. Students are asked to park in the assigned numbered space.  Please note that students run the risk of being towed if they do not display the current 2017-2018 parking permit on their vehicles and are not parked in their assigned space.

Students are reminded that they must park only in the designated student parking lots. There are 2 designated lots for students—the first lot is directly across from the Virginia Tech Grad Center and the second lot faces Haycock Road. Students are not allowed to park in the Faculty parking lots.

The amended cost of parking permits for the school year 2017-2018 is $250. Seniors who purchased their permits before September 1 at a cost of $300 will be receiving a separate letter regarding a $50 refund.
